Scarves are great fashion items for fashionistas, they are pieces everyone should have. Scarf makes a great fashion statement to an outfit, it is a fashionable piece. It serves different purposes and can be used in different ways. It can be placed around the neck, tied on the head for hair coverage, most especially during bad hair days or religious reasons (most religions actually use scarves)
Scarves do not have to be boring irrespective of the functions they perform. You can spice up your boring scarves by adding lace to it.
Things you will need:
- Fabric: 1/2 yard for a pretty thick scarf. It is advisable to go for a jersey knit material because they have nice looking edges.
- Lace at least a yard if you go with the half yard wide scarf.
- Thread: use thread to match the lace, not the scarf.
Start by stitching the lace to the plain scarf as shown above, leave excess of the net on the plain fabric before stitching. Then you can now stitch it in an invisible manner, such that the it is neatly placed.
You can now cut out the excess part by tracing out the lace pattern to make it look integrated into the scarf.
You can stitch the lace edge neatly on the fabric such that the lacey designs are firmly in place to give a neat finishing look.
Add lace to a serious looking scarf and project your femininity easily. Scarves are super cool accessories, I bet this addition makes it more appealing.
