Here’s good news for the diabetics; unripe plantain porridge is just suitable for your condition thus, it is expected that you join in the fight against diabetes by sticking to one of your delicious meals, unripe plantain porridge. It is the number one food for diabetic patients.

Usually, plantain porridge is one of the delicious foods made and eaten here in Nigeria. Unlike every other meal, this meal does not appear often in most menus, but the good thing about the unripe plantain porridge is that it is easy to prepare, as it takes the same process as the yam porridge, although with a little twist and slight changes in ingredients.

It is usually made with unripe plantain, although you can use a combination of ripe and unripe plantain.  Most people do this in other to achieve a faint sugary taste. Besides, it is very rich in iron and highly recommended for diabetic patients as earlier stated.

  • Bunch of Nigerian pumpkin leaves
  • Unripe plantains
  • Ripe plantains (optional)
  • Ground crayfish
  • Fish (Mackerel)
  • Onion
  • Palm oil
  • Stock cubes
  • Pepper
  • Salt
