The importance of sunglasses especially in Africa, cannot be overemphasized. Not only are they a form of protective eye wear designed primarily to prevent bright sunlight and high-energy visible light from damaging or discomforting the eyes, they can sometimes function as a visual aid, as variously termed spectacles or glasses exist, featuring lenses that are colored, polarized or darkened. They are equally a great fashion statement.
Yes, we purchase them in market places, shopping malls, boutiques, name it! In my opinion, it is high time we thought of looking more African on sunglasses thereby, making that boo stare and cherish his chic continuously this weekend…lol. Well, try and make your boo continuously staring at you this weekend by getting handy with Ankara DIY project. Make your Ankara sunglasses like this one;
The materials needed for your Ankara sunglasses are;
- Super glue
- Masking tape
- Ankara scraps
- Mod podge
To get started, score the part of your sunglasses you wish to cover, then cover up the lenses.
The next step is to glue your Ankara fabric to the glasses, using your superglue. You are meant to leave it to dry for about five minutes at this stage, then cover up other areas with your pieces of Ankara.
Carry on by adding your mod podge over the Ankara fabric using a brush. Leave to dry.
Cut off excessive Ankara fabric when it dries. Ensure that it is hard enough. This is the stage where the nail scissors come in handy.
Kudos! You are done.. This will leave your boo continuously staring at you this weekend
