One of the trends that unexpectedly got bigger this year is the choker necklace. Many fashion critiques had talked about how this late 2015 hot trend wouldn’t gain as much following but well this critics have had to take several seats because this trend has only gotten bigger and better.
The choker necklace trend started out with the rubber chokers that came with little stud or charm details but everyone seems to have fallen in love with the cloth or ribbon version and this is mainly because its much more nicer to the skin than the others (plastic and metal). With the fabric choker necklace you don’t have to think too much about how you can’t wait to get the statement piece off your neck, you literally forget that you even have it on (speaking from personal experience).
Several days back the internet went crazy when Kim K spotted a denim choker necklace which she paired with a black body con dress and black shoes, the choker was the only colorful piece in the all black assemble and it was quiet fascinating how it stood out but still didn’t overwhelm her entire look, this got people so riled up that everyone in searching for a denim choker. Sadly there are rarely any denim chokers or let me rephrase that, the denim chokers haven’t arrived in the nigerian market yet so joining this trend might take you a bit more time than you anticipated except if you are as astute and creative as I think you are then you would quickly learn how to create a fabric choker by watching Shirley B Eniangs’s DIY Choker necklace Tutorial;
